The Issue

Just across our borders there are essential needs that are not being met and we can help. LifeBridge Community Services, located in Bridgeport, works to assist youth and families to reach their full potential through academic and behavioral health programs and supplying essentials for daily living. And here’s where we can come in.

In October, LifeBridge is providing low income women and girls in Bridgeport with feminine hygiene products. It’s crazy how expensive these items are and how the lack of availability can keep up to 20% of women home from work and girls out of school.

The Need

• Boxes of tampons (regular or super, with a minimum count of 30), or

• Pads (regular or overnight, with a minimum box count of 36).

  LifeBridge will be giving 600 women and girls a box of each with a bar of soap as well.

The Drive

Between now and October 14:

• Drop Off

  • The Cos Cobber (31 E. Putnam Avenue, Cos Cob), or

  • Roller Rabbit (103 Greenwich Avenue)

• Pick Up (if you are in a Fairfield County town from Westport to Greenwich, Port Chester, Pound Ridge, or Rye)

  • Fill out the form below to sign up to donate.

  • Put the box(es) you’d like to donate outside your front door (or tell us in the comments how best to pick up).

  • Within 24 hours of your message, a representative of The Icing on the Cake will pick up your donations.

• If you are outside of the area above but would still like to participate:

  • Donate via LifeBridge; under “Designation”, choose “Hygiene Products”.
